Brief about the Department Economics: The Department of Economics was established in the year 1993 under NEHU. The Department was upgraded to Degree level in the year 1995 and offered BA General (Economics) in the initial stage. The Department also played an important role in the introduction of Commerce in the Higher Secondary level and B.Com level, as economics is being taught at the General level. The Department was upgraded to BA Honours in Economics in the year 2004.
